Pre-Kindergarten Roundup

To qualify for Pre-K, children must be 4 years old on/or before Aug. 31, 2014 AND meet at least ONE of the following qualifications: • Single parent family • Teen parent family • Low income • DCF referral

• Limited English speaking • Parent with no high school diploma/GED • Child qualifies for migrant status • Lower than expected developmental progress

The Pre-Kindergarten Program is for Goddard School District residents. The purpose of the state Pre-kindergarten Program is to provide a high quality early learning experience for young children determined to be at-risk in the year before they are eligible to enter Kindergarten. The program is open on a first come, first served basis for children with evidence that they meet at least one of the first seven at-risk criteria. Non-discrimination Policy: Children who have an IEP AND who meet at least one of the first seven (1-7) at-risk criteria will be considered as potential members of the Four-year-old at-risk classroom and cannot be excluded from participation soley based on their having an IEP (KSDE, 2013).
