Introducing The Voices of Colour Sports Series
Created by E. Renard Jackson, The Voices of Colour Sports Series takes you on a poetic and biographical journey of the African-American athlete, whose awe-inspiring performances and undeniable spirit helped to shape the pantheon of sports, and in most cases, society as a whole.
From Jackie Robinson to Muhammad Ali to Venus and Serena Williams, The Voices of Colour Sports Series offers a poetic glimpse into the lives of African-American athletes who not only towered above their sport, but used their voices to help create social change. And right out of the gate the author delivers a page by page account of their groundbreaking heroics, carefully packaged with short poetry, illustrations and interesting facts.
So, if you're wondering where all of the heroes have gone, look no further than The Voices of Colour Sports Series. It's where we honor the pioneering achievements of the African American athlete. And it's the only place where legends and poetry come together.
