FREE CONCERTS & MOVIES

Bring your chair and blankets to Meinig Memorial Park for free concerts in July on Sunday evenings, and in August on Wednesday evenings. Also join your neighbors for a free outdoor movie in the park every Saturday evening in August, beginning at dusk.

SANDY MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL

Garbage service provided by Hoodview Disposal and Recycling includes weekly collection of yard debris, but for limbs that are too large to recycle check out the city’s brush chipper. This industrial chipper is available for city residents to rent free of charge. Visit cityofsandy.com to fill out a reservation request or call (503) 668-5310.

The second week of every July marks the Sandy Mountain Festival, including a huge arts & crafts sale in Meinig Park, concerts, a carnival, and more. Walk into downtown for the parade on the Thursday evening before the festival weekend. For more information about the event, go to www.sandymountainfestival.org or call (503) 6685900.

GARAGE SALE SIGNS

THINGS TO KNOW SIDEWALKS Property owners are responsible for the maintenance of sidewalks on their property. Shrubs must be trimmed and tree branches must remain at least 8 feet above the sidewalk. Contact the city before replacing or removing any street trees between the sidewalk and curb.

PARKING Cars parked in a driveway cannot extend into the sidewalk. Vehicles other than cars must be stored on private property and cannot be parked on the street.

UNKEMPT YARDS If you have a complaint about a neighbor’s property, contact Code Enforcement at (503) 668-5566.

It’s illegal to post signs to utility poles in Sandy, so the City of Sandy sells freestanding “Garage Sale” signs for $3 each during business hours. Please refer to Sandy’s Municipal Code for more information. Chapter 15.32.020 details the rules for signs in Commercial & Industrial zones and Chapter 15.32.032 covers signs in Residential zones.

LIBRARY ACTIVITIES The Sandy Public Library is located at 38980 Proctor Blvd. and offers preschool story time, book discussion groups for adults, teen programming and many other programs. Visit www.ci.sandy.or.us/Library/ for more information or call 503-668-5537.

Dogs not on the owner’s property must be secured on a leash at all times. Dogs are required to be licensed through the county. Licenses are available at your local veterinarian or by calling Clackamas County Dog Services at (503) 655-8628.

SANDY RIVER PARK

The City of Sandy has its own transit service (SAM) connecting riders to the TriMet system in Gresham and Estacada for $1 each way or free for in-town trips. Riders can also connect to the Mountain Communities via Mt. Hood Express. Frequent riders can purchase fare passes at City Hall,28 Sandy Public Library and the Community Center. Seniors over 60 and those with an ADA disability qualify for a return trip token. Children under 6 ride free with a parent. STAR is Sandy’s “dial-a-ride” service for travel within Sandy for destination to destination service. This is a reservation service only. Trips cost $1 each way, but Visit our website or call (503) 668-3466 to view the full schedule and book your next trip.

TICKLE CREEK PARK & TRAIL Hike the 1.4 mile trail along Tickle Creek or just enjoy the 4.86 acre natural area within the Tickle Creek greenway. Access between Hwy 211 and 362nd Avenue.

SANDY FISH HATCHERY Visit the Fish Hatchery off Ten-Eyck Road and walk the public trail down to the Sandy River.
