Saturday and Sunday March 16th and 17th, 2013 Two Days, Three Events, $5000+ in Cash and Prizes The 2013 edition of Big Shark's Tour of St. Louis brings two days of racing to the Gateway City. Get rid of cabin fever and race your bike. Three venues around St. Louis City and County.
Saturday Morning- Racers will test themselves on the Wildwood Centaur Time Trail course- one of St. Louis cycling's favorite stretches of road.
Sunday will be the finale as racers duel it out at the Carondelicious Criterium to determine the Tour of St. Louis overall champions. A 1.3 mile circuit in the gently rolling Carondelet Park.
The Omnium: Racers participating in the Omnium must compete in all three events. Omnium categories are: Women 3/4, Men 4, Men 3, Men Pro 1/2, Women Open and Men Masters 40+ (Cat 1-4). Men Cat 4/5 and Juniors are not competing for overall omnium prizes.
Saturday late morning and afternoon racers will test themselves on the flat and fast Great Forest Park Bicycle Race criterium course. The only bicycle race in the City's premier park.
Pre-Registration and Number Pick Up, Friday, March 15th from 4pm until 8 pm @ Big Shark Bicycle Company - 6133 Delmar Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63112
Event # 1- Saturday, March 16th, 2013, $1000 Purse Course Description: A flat and winding 9 mile out and back along Centaur and Wildhorse Creek Road in West St. Louis County. Registration: Race day entry fee is $30 (includes $3 rider insurance surcharge). Registration opens at 6:30 am. Juniors race day fee is $10 per event. Online registration will be at www.bikereg.com. Online registration has a small surcharge. Team Entry is $100. Event Rules- Riders will begin at 7:30am and be staged in one minute increments. The last rider will depart at 10:30am. We can only start a maximum of 180 riders, so register early. We will stage riders in sequence of the afternoon race -so that riders can transfer to the Great Forest Park Bicycle Race event in time for their start. We will stage riders by category and then order of registration. The road will be open to traffic and monitored by the Wildwood Police Department. The course is winding, wide open, with silky smooth pavement. The course has two mild climbs and an uphill finish. Registration: Race day entry fee is $35 (includes $3 rider insurance surcharge). Registration will be open at 7:30 am. Juniors race day fee is $10 per event. If you already have a number you need to check in to be on the official start list. Online registration will be at www.bikereg.com. There will be a slight surcharge for online registration. Second race will be $15. Event Rules- Junior age groups will be scored separately and medals will be awarded to the top three in each age group.
