SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS and APPLICATION APPLICATION PROCEDURE AND DEADLINE The application packet must be completed and returned to the HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELOR’S OFFICE or to the SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE CHAIR by 3:30 PM on Friday, March 30, 2018.

A completed scholarship application form. A copy of the applicant’s transcript for all academic work. Transcript must include class rank, class size, grade point average and any college admissions tests scores. A transcript of band activities that must be verified and signed by Mr. Riley.

LA GRANGE BAND BOOSTER CLUB PURPOSE The purpose of the La Grange Band Booster Club Scholarship is to assist current High School Band seniors in beginning their higher education, and to recognize outstanding achievement, dedication and participation in the La Grange High School Band. Applicants should try and participate in all band activities, be strong academically, exhibit leadership qualities and be of good character.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION The La Grange Band Booster Club Scholarship Committee will select qualified applicants and determine amounts awarded to each recipient. The Scholarship Committee will consist of one parent representative for each grade* (Freshman, Sophomore and Junior), and one at-large representative. *Parents of senior class band members are not eligible to serve on the Scholarship Committee. Scholarship recipients must present a current college registration schedule showing a minimum of 12 semester hours to Jennifer Rebecek at the La Grange Independent School Administration Office by November 30, 2018. Scholarship monies will be sent directly to the university, college or trade school of student’s choice.

IMPORTANT: Scholarship monies will be forfeited if not claimed by December 1, 2018, unless prior arrangements have been made with the La Grange Band Booster Club President. Any special circumstances must be presented to the President and voted on by La Grange Band Booster Club members on or before November 1, 2018. If special circumstances are granted to a scholarship recipient, all scholarship money must be claimed by April 1, 2019. This will be the ABSOLUTE FINAL DEADLINE to claim scholarship money.

LA GRANGE BAND BOOSTER CLUB SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS To be considered for a La Grange Band Booster Club Scholarship, the student must: ➢

Be a band student with 4 years participation in the La Grange High School Band (transfer students must provide proof of complete participation at previous school).



Actively pursue UIL competition in both fall and spring semesters, and participate in the winter and spring concerts; transcript must indicate student has earned 8 semesters of credit in band.



Be enrolled in La Grange High School prior to graduation.



Have met all graduation requirements that have been set by La Grange ISD.



Have been active in as many non-required band activities as possible. This will determine amount of scholarship.



Beginning with the 2017-2018 school year, Junior and Senior band members and/or parents must work at least 2 spring band booster concessions during soccer or baseball. Football concessions is a BAND requirement NOT band boosters.



Have been accepted to their desired college, university or trade school.



Have a Parent or Legal Guardian registered as a current LGBBC member by the first Tuesday of October (the October Band Booster meeting). The date this year is: October 3, 2017.
