We are very proud of what we are continuing to build at Space Coast United. You have earned a spot on one of our Competitive Program teams in what is renowned as the strongest club in Brevard County with superior coaching staff, trainers and volunteers. We hope you make this your club home for many years to come. As part of the registration process, we outline commitments the Club is making to you as well as communicating our expectations of you. We want to ensure that you are aware of the Club’s policies and procedures. This document spells out your responsibilities to the Club when you decide to participate. CLUB RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBLIGATIONS: TO THE PLAYER The Club is responsible to each player for: Ensuring a safe and developmentally appropriate environment for fun and advancement. Providing each team with a qualified Coach to lead the team during the year. Providing each team with a training schedule for field usage during the seasonal year. Providing a sufficient number of training sessions with a qualified instructor to allow players to reach their potential. Advising of different opportunities within the Club for individual and team growth. PLAYER’S FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS: TO THE CLUB Upon accepting a position on a Space Coast United Competitive Program Team you are required to pay the full registration and training fees for the entire year, even if you leave the club prior to the end of 201415season. We do review exceptional cases for consideration of a refund. Examples may include seasonending injuries, family relocation of a distance that prohibits regular play with the Club, and other special or unusual circumstances. Player registration fees to the Club are as follows: Club Registration Dues: U9-U10: $250 Uniform: $145 + tax/shipping**
U11-U12: $325
Training Fees: U9/U10/U11/U12 Academy Teams $450/year The registration fee includes: FYSA or US Club(as applicable) Player Registration, GotSoccer Player Registration, FPL (for US Club Teams), Seminole League (or equivalent) Team Registration (for Travel Teams U13-U19), BYSL or GCF (or equivalent) League Team Registration -Fall & Spring (for Select Teams U13-U19, all U9-U12 teams), Ref Fees for normal league games in leagues that club covers registration (half of 16-18 games for whole year - depending on league entered in), Club Overhead - including lights, insurance, office supplies, advertising, field maintenance, staff salaries, and other costs associated with running the club. **The Uniform consists of the following: 2 - PUMA Game Jerseys 2 – PUMA Game Shorts 2 - pairs PUMA socks 2 – PUMA Training Jerseys and is ordered directly by each player from Eurosport. Team Additional Expenses - It is commonplace for Competitive Program Teams to compete in tournaments, festivals, and jamborees tournaments throughout the year. All fees associated with such competitions, including entry fees, coach and player travel and lodging are additional expenses not covered by player registration or standard training fees. These fees vary by team based on tournaments entered and distances travelled for tournament and league play. Your team manager and coach will provide an estimate of expenses and a timeline for collecting funds to cover these expenses at the first team meeting. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: All families are required to complete five hours of service per family per child in both the fall and the spring to help the club operate smoothly. Families may opt to forgo supporting the club in this manner by paying an additional $50 fee per player to have the service hour requirement waived. Families and/or teams may hold team fundraisers and seek sponsorships, where needed, to cover the team’s expenses. All families will be asked to participate in club wide fundraiser events (i.e. discount card program, casino night, golf event). These fundraiser events are organized at the club level, and are intended to raise funds for player scholarships, teams, and the club. The individual family cost for these events is not expected to exceed $100 per family. Participation in the fundraiser events are not waived by the volunteer opt-out fee. CLUB POLICIES:
All members must adhere to the SCUSC Code of Decorum (available on SCUSC website). Questions related to club practices can be asked on the website. If you have questions, please consult the website for further information and contact the appropriate board or staff member for understanding. TRANSFER/RELEASE POLICY-Players are making a one year commitment, June 1, 2014-May 31, 2015. Requests for transfers or release prior to the end of the seasonal year are not guaranteed to be provided and will only be executed if it does not negatively affect the team in the determination of the Club President AND the Director of Coaching. If such a release is granted by the President and DOC, the player/family is required to pay the full year’s fees plus an additional $500 transfer/release fee. Players on State or Region Cup teams who have not paid their expenses prior to registration for State Cup or Regional Cup Tournaments will not be allowed to participate in the event and if they request a release or stop attending team functions, they will be placed in “bad standing” with FYSA, and not allowed to play for another FYSA team until the balance owed our club is paid in full.
Academy Select Commitment Form: Each player will receive a copy of the Player-Parent Agreement. All players and their families are expected to abide by and support the policies and procedures included therein. If you have any questions, please contact your team coach or the Director of Coaching. A copy of the agreement is included with the registration materials. All players are expected to meet a high standard of commitment to training and play. Players are expected to attend all practices and participate in all league games and select tournaments.
I understand and accept my commitment to Space Coast United Soccer Club. I hereby release any officers, coaches, sponsors, or owners/lien holders of properties used by Space Coast United Soccer Club from any and all claims and causes of action of any kind whatsoever which the undersigned has or might have, known or unknown, now existing or might arise in the future, directly or indirectly attributable to any injury or damage that might result from my child’s participation in soccer activities. Club Service Hours As a not-for-profit youth sports organization, Space Coast United Soccer club is dedicated to keeping our fees competitive so all prospective members have an opportunity to participate. Therefore, each player and his/her family are required to assist SCUSC with a total of five (5) service hours during both the spring and fall seasons in support of club programming. Opportunities for service hours are varied and on-going, published regularly at VolunteerSpot.com which can be accessed from the club’s website.
