Welcome to BLC • The Berkeley Lacrosse Club is one of the first Lacrosse Clubs formed in the Bay Area • Connec.ons with Berkeley High Lacrosse and Cal Lacrosse • Goal is to provide boys and girls of every age the opportunity to play lacrosse • A non-profit, volunteer run organiza.on

• BLC Summer Camp (July 17-21, 2017) • Fall Ball • Main ac.vity is Spring Season – Prac.ce starts January 30 – Games start in March and run through early May
Spring Schedules • Prac.ces schedules are available online • All players are encouraged to make all prac.ces – playing .me will reflect commitment to the team. • However, check with your coach if you have a conflict • Preliminary game schedules are online. Please make every effort to a]end every game – your teammates are coun.ng on you!

Parent Coaches • Following best prac.ces of neighboring clubs, we are ac.vely recrui.ng Parent Coaches for all teams. – Help at one prac.ce per week, plus games – Complete online NCJLA cer.fica.on process – Be another adult on the field to keep things running smoothly – Training scheduled for morning of February 11
Uniforms and BLC Gear • Uniform orders were placed during registra.on. Will be delivered before first games. • Visit the Online Store for BLC Spirit items. Select items available for purchase tonight. Bag order will be placed January 23.
New Uniforms • Boys are gehng new uniforms this year! • Girls teams can reuse their uniforms.
Gear Rental • Gear Rental days are: Sundays January 22 & 29, 9:30-11:30 Extra Space Storage, 601 Cedar St (@Eastshore Hwy) in Berkeley
• $5 per piece, $10 for a helmet • Bring your player! • Volunteers to help fit and distribute the gear are needed. • Gear Rental is unique to BLC – Treat with Care!
Volunteer Hours • All families pay an upfront Volunteer Deposit of $100 • Full refund is available following – Comple.on of 8 volunteer hours – Refund requested – No par.al credit
• Volunteer opportuni.es are available at the Team and Club level • Training will be provided
Outstanding Volunteer Needs • Home Field Setup – Only when your team has the first/last home game of the day. – Retrieve/return game box, table, chairs from/to storage shed – Set up field with cones and balls – Larger car required
Outstanding Volunteer Needs • Team Scheduler (B8U, B12U, G10U, G14U) – Assist with scheduling games (already done!) – Contact opposing team in advance of home games – Follow-up on any mid-season scheduling changes
• Sideline Manager (all teams) – NCJLA requirement – Enforce field rules (no dogs, no food or drink) – Foster a posi.ve spectator sideline environment
Outstanding Volunteer Needs • Team Parent (Both B12U) – Coordinate snack schedule – Track volunteers for team-level needs – Coordinate season-end team party – Assist coach with communica.ons – Foster a well-run team experience for all!
• Scorekeeper (G10U, G12U) – Keep score at game – Training scheduled for Feb. 11, 3-5 pm
