Removed from the crowds on the roads and noisy beaches, La Mangrove is situated in South Goa, 5 minutes away from Galgibag Beach in a quaint Goan village that is calm and which renders you into a serene and contemplative mood. The beauty of La Mangrove lies in the tipi accommodation and river lounge that is offered to guests. The river lounge lets you recline on the lounge whilst watching the calm waters of the river flow by. Well if this isn’t paradise then I don’t know what is. A quiet place where one can be left to their thoughts amidst the tranquil meditative space of nature, what more could one ask for? But that’s not all that defines this exquisite haven. Owned by Maud and Thibault, La Mangrove has been set up along the underlying ideology of being one with nature.
Aspects such as water-management, waste management, energy management and global warming management are core principles that the resort is run on. Maud and Thibault ensure that guests do not waste water unnecessarily, the bathrooms have eco-toilets, segregation of the waste is done methodically, the bulbs in the rooms are energy-efficient and one won’t find items like the fridge and television in the room since they consume a lot of electricity, but hey who is complaining when you have a view of the river and the mangroves all to yourself? The hotel also provides its guests with bicycles which is a healthier and fuel-saving alternative than hiring a bike or taxi. The food too is organic and sourced from local farmers. A resort with sustainability as its core principle does not mean that your stay here will be a nomadic experience. For those of you who cannot part with comfort very easily well, La Mangrove has something for you as well. Two of the tipis have king size beds whereas two others have twin size beds, and the four tipis are on a raised platform, also the entire resort has free Wi-Fi connectivity. La Mangrove also offers special yoga sessions and yoga fanatics can exercise while facing the Galgibag River and soaking in the pure unadulterated air around them.
