LITTLE LEAGUE INDIANA DISTRICT 14 UMPIRE CLINIC JANUARY 20-21, 2018 JAN 20, 8:30AM-3PM JAN 21, 12:30PM-5PM LOCATION: NORTHRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL FIELD HOUSE MIDDLEBURY, IN Do you want to help out your local Little league program and have fun enjoying America's favorite pastime?
Who should attend? 1. If you currently umpire baseball or softball umpire or if you are just wanting to get started into umpiring. 2. If you are a parent, grandparent, student, or just someone wanting to get involved.
What is to be expected? 1. We are going to spend time going through the rules of both baseball and softball. 2. We will be working on plate and 2-man mechanics. 3. We will be teaching how we should handle ourselves on the field. Also dealing with coach’s who are arguing or questioning calls. We are looking to grow the number of umpires within our Little League district to help local leagues increase the number of umpires they have to draw from and that all umpires are on the same page when it comes to what Little League expects from an umpire.
What to bring? 1. Note pad, 2018 rule book, if you don’t have one we will have them available. 2. Sunday you will need your plate gear, if you don’t have any we will have some available for your use. 3. A willingness to learn new technics, updated rules, and enjoy a great time with fellow umpires.
