Senior Purchasing Specialist Purchasing & Operations Branch (12-month contract) The Office of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, Purchasing & Operations Branch, is seeking a motivated, proactive and service-oriented Senior Purchasing Specialist who can plan, manage and conduct the procurement activities for a diverse range of commodities, with emphasis on printing, uniforms and furniture assets. You will apply your extensive knowledge of theories, principles and practices relating to procurement to develop specifications, prepare tender/proposal documents, evaluate bid submissions, and award tenders, quotations and proposals for a wide variety of contracts. As one of your key talents, you must be able to utilize your negotiation skills to ensure cost-effective and timely schedules, resources and solutions, satisfy the initiatives, deadlines and priorities of all internal clients. Your outgoing personality lends itself to fostering positive working relationships when consulting with suppliers enabling you to investigate emerging procurement trends and state-of-the-art technologies that can be applied to the organization. As a consultant, you will provide expert advice to your clients and validate requirements within market standards. Complementing your several years of generalist experience as a Purchasing Specialist, you have or are working towards obtaining your designation. In addition, you will possess 3 years of public procurement experience and/or education in a relevant discipline with several years of procurement experience. You have a flair for influencing, facilitating and negotiating. You are familiar with contract law as it relates to procurement and have an understanding of the procurement of goods and services related to printing and furniture assets. You have successfully managed multiple concurrent projects and have experience with all phases from planning though to tracking and reporting. You have a knack for identifying and resolving pre- and post-contractual problems and are driven by being organized, responsive and flexible. Aptitude for working with figures, along with superior communication, problem-solving, judgment and analytical skills will contribute to your success in this position. The salary range for this position is $67,276 to $85,766 per annum.
