OPENING: The General Elections & Board Meeting of the NPPB Board was called to order at 7:35 pm on 9/9/15 in Newbury Park by Jason Kerns. Those present are listed in the chart as well as guests: Joe D’Errico, Ken Goodwin, Chris Inglehart, Gisho Tatsutani, Lance Kroetz, Steve Field, Kevin Robitaille, Karl Buechenschuetz, Makalah Fausset, William Trotter, Cheryl Bryarly, David Bryarly, Joey Pagano, Craig Pearson, Eva Stump, Ron Mongiello, Bryan Sudberry, Mike Batista, Charan Pemberton, Ron Higa and Scott Barber.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Bryan H. made a motion to approve the July minutes, second by Stephen M. The minutes were approved as presented.

NEXT MEETING: Tracey reported the next meeting is Tuesday, Oct 6th.

PUBLIC APOLOGY: One of the individuals who broke into the snack shack was present to issue a public apology to the NPPB Board, Advisory Council and families for his participation in the break-in last spring. In addition to the public apology, he will complete volunteer hours at our fields this year.

ADVISORY REPORT: A. Fall Ball: Jason K. reported an increase in fall ball numbers this Eric Horne year. There are a total of 18 fall Brian Huff ball teams (3 Shetland, 4 Pinto, 4 George Helmer Bryan Herring Mustang, 3 Bronco, and 4 Pony). Doug Tuxill The teams are playing interleague Darren Garlock Mike Zirretta with Agoura in all divisions, and Jason Buckley with CVLL only at the Bronco level. Schedules will be coming x Greg Greer out tomorrow, and uniforms will be x Wendy Kennedy in by Saturday. B. Financial Report: Kevin W. is x Shea Vrataric working on the 2014-15 annual x x x x x x Nicki Barber financial report, and will have it CJ Huck ready to present at the November Rachel Moscoso meeting. Based on the review so x x far, he expects a small loss this Eric Horne x x x Kerri Cundiff year. The snack shack did well, probably due to the addition of the credit card machine. Finally, Cronies (Dave Foldes) is once again sponsoring baseballs for this coming year – thanks Dave!

NEW BUSINESS: A. Colt Division: Jason K. is continuing to work on a Colt Division for the spring season. He believes this will fill a need in the community for kids who still want to play baseball, but do not play on the high school teams. He is awaiting final approval from CRPD to use Del Prado Field 3 as a Colt field. The league will need to purchase a portable mound and put in fences. We will share the shed currently at the location, with permission from NPGS. B. Riding Mowers at Sequoia: There are two riding mowers at Sequoia that are not being used. Jason K. would like to sell these mowers and use the funds for capital improvement (i.e. Sequoia backstop needs work).

C. New Rules with PONY National/Misc. Rules: Per PONY National, pitching mounds for Bronco and Mustang are being moved back 2ft this year. CRPD is already working on this at DV. Jason K. would like to meet with DDs to discuss which rules to implement (i.e. the potential use of a pitching machine in Pinto Black to improve fielding skills). D. Capital Improvement Ideas: There are two grant programs through the City of TO and CRPD that are available. The CRPD grant program will be available in Nov, and applications are due by June 30th. The City of TO grant program has a different deadline. Dawn Y. has offered to help with the grant writing process. Some ideas for capital improvement are: addition of third batting cage stall or soft toss area, additional fencing/shade for foul balls, replacement of snack shack freezer, Sequoia field improvements, French drains at Bronco and Pony fields, etc. E. Tournament: Jason K. mentioned that we may need to consider not hosting as many tournaments this year. We will need to find an on-site tournament director, as our partnership with Jeremy Huffman seemed to work well. 8.
