Sunday, August 21, 2011, St. Timothy’s EYC had their first meeting. Our group was very pleased to see new faces join us – whether that meant new members or adults coming to help! Thanks a bunch to John Raymond, Renai Mansel, Bryan Mansel, Carla Ruffer and Matt Wisdom for representing the EYC Dream Team Sunday night! Due to the new faces, we started the night off with some pizza and icebreakers. During train wreck we learned about each other, Shelbie Flores dominated the 1st Annual Paper Rock Scissors Tournament and Ships and Sailors wore us all out! After that we convened in the EYC room to discuss what we are all hoping for in our Christian group. It was great to hear fresh ideas like meeting with youth groups of different denominations,

continuing service in the community and studying the book of Revelation! Next, we dissected the second reading from Sunday morning’s service – a reading concerning the Body of Christ, recognizing one’s spiritual gift and devoting your life to God. Our group really enjoyed the discussion and left feeling a sense of admiration for putting aside worldly thoughts and devoting it all to God. Lastly, we came together for Compline and offered up our personal intentions through prayer. For all those who have not attended EYC, please consider this your invitation! We meet every Sunday: Jr. High (6th, 7th and 8th grade) from 4:30 – 5:30, Dinner with Jr. High and Sr. High at 5:30 and Sr. High (9th grade and up)

from 6:00 – 7:00. Our first big adventure will be a lock-in in Tupelo, MS. on September 24th and 25th. We are really excited about this opportunity because we will be joining St. Peter’s EYC from Oxford and the Tupelo EYC! Thank you for your continued support – St. Timothy’s has a great future with these kids! Big love, Claire White

ADOPT A PROJECT In the Narthex you will find a posting of eight (8) projects regarding the care and upkeep of our ten acre campus. Each is in need of adoption for the year 2011 with varying degrees of difficulty and time. Please read carefully and see if you dare to become truly involved in the care of YOUR church. So much more can be accomplished if we all lend a hand.

“OBLATION SUNDAY” Come and see our many ministries which will take place on Sunday, September 11th! In the CAB, tables will be set up for your viewing after the 8:15 service and after the 10:30 service showcasing many of the ministries St. Timothy’s has to offer. Refreshments will be served. Our Children’s Christian Formation will be displayed from nursery through the 12th grade with a registration table available where you may sign up your child/children. At the 10:30 worship service, a special blessing will be offered for the teachers and children. Regular classes will begin the following Sunday, Sept. 18. Just about everything you ever wanted to know about how St. Timothy’s serves within and outside of the church will be on display. There will be a representative for each ministry on display that can answer questions that you might have and a sign-up sheet will be available if a certain ministry interests you and you would like to serve!

Don’t miss out on our fun and fact-filled Ministry Fair on Sunday, September 11!

Bring ENSURE for our aids outreach project. Please put in labeled bins in the library. Thank you for all your generous gifts.

4th Sunday is “ENSURE SUNDAY”

On the 4th Sunday of each month you are asked to bring Ensure for the Sacred Heart Southern Missions. A grant was not renewed for them this year and they rely on donations of Ensure to carry them through each month. Please help in this most worthwhile ministry.

Patrick and Clelie went to Oxford a few weeks ago for a Clericus Meeting and took all the items we had collected for the Honduras Medical Mission. St. Peter’s is the host church for the next two years. They were elated with all the items we had collected. Keep up the good work and bring all those little hotel soaps. We are also collecting tooth paste/brushes and old eye glasses and small school supplies. “MORE T HAN A MEAL” We have been asked by Grace-St. Luke’s Episcopal Church to cook and serve the homeless on the second Sunday of every month. A cooking crew has been set up to decide meals and will go shopping to buy the food items. We will go to cook and serve “More than a Meal” which begins at 4 PM. We will leave from the church at 2:30 pm – the cooking crew will leave earlier. The date in September is Sunday, September 11 th . To sign up to help with this very important ministry, please contact Sandy Kimmelman.
