News Bits We are changing up our Halloween party this year. It won’t be a Trunk or Treat, it will be like we did last year because of the rain. We will section off the auditorium for you to decorate a space. Sign up sheets are in the fellowship hall to bring candy and/or decorate a space. See Wendy Thompson if you have any questions. Trick or Treat Party, Oct 29, 2018 5PM Christie will soon be putting out sign-up sheets for Thanksgiving. Please be on the look out! From Annella:: We all grow up in some kind of a family, and God truly cares that our FAMILY LIFE is an honor to him. These books will help you tremendously: "The Christian Family" (God's order for his families); "Dare to Discipline" (raising your children in the Lord); "Secrets of Christian Family Living" (keeping parents, teens, and family in balance); and "Now is the Time to Love" (how to have a great family). Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes We will be collecting gift items for our Shoe box campaign over the next few weeks. There will be a collection box in the fellowship hall. Gifts should be for Boys or Girls – ages 2-14. This will culminate th in a Congregational luncheon on November 5 to raise funds for the shipping and other costs. See Dana Shepherd if you have questions. HYGIENE ITEMS: Tooth brush, toothpaste, mild bar soap, combs, washcloths, (they are asking for no liquids), etc.… SCHOOL SUPPLIES: Pens, pencils and sharpeners, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pad sets, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books, etc.… TOYS: Small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, other small toys (if batteries are needed supply them as well), hard candies etc.… OTHER: T-shirts, socks, ball caps, sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewelry, flashlights (with batteries) DO NOT INCLUDE: used or damaged items, war-related items (toy guns, knives, military figures, etc.…), chocolate or food, liquids or lotions, breakable items, aerosol cans, medications or vitamins…
