Leaving a legacy of love requires that we know the Father who loves us through His Word.
Leaving a legacy of love requires that you reflect God's love even if it's a blurred picture of His love.
The best father's give out grace and love, even when they don't understand why their children do what they do.
Notes:
Community Group ICEBREAKER: Share a story of a father that has impacted you in a positive way.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS: How does society view the place of father in the family? Can you think of examples? Why do you think this might be? What legacies have been left behind for you and what do you hope to leave behind? How do you think human fatherhood is the same as God's fatherhood? How is it different? What should be the priorities for Christian fathers? APPLICATION: If you are a father, what aspects of your relationship with your children do you need to change? By God's grace do that. If you are not a father, what have you learned that can help you prepare for, or encourage others in, the responsibilities of fatherhood? By God's grace do that. PRAY: Give thanks for your own father, whatever his faults, but above all give thanks for your perfect heavenly Father. Pray for the fathers in our church, that they would leave a legacy of love as those who are forgiven and loved by their heavenly Father. Ask for God's help to leave a legacy of love that reflects God's love.
