Shaftsbury State Park Welcome to Shaftsbury State Park, an 84-acre property surrounding picturesque Lake Shaftsbury. The reservoir was originally constructed to be a mill pond. The park area operated as a private campground and cabin resort before it was purchased by the State of Vermont in 1974. It has been a popular state park since its establishment. Shaftsbury State Park offers day and overnight recreation. A full service day use area and a rustic group camping area are available. There is also a beautiful, fully furnished lakeside cottage available for rent on a weekly basis.
