Dear Friends Re: Angel Tree Program Adopt A Family It is hard to believe that Christmas is only two months away! At The Salvation Army we are very busy preparing for the families that will need our help. Last year 1,042 children were given toys and clothing through generous supporters. These items are given to the parent/guardian to place under their Christmas tree. Not only are the children excited on Christmas morning but the parent is given self-worth by having gifts for their child. Once again we need your help. There are many ways to provide gifts for families in need this holiday season. Some groups take the ages/gender of individual children (provided by The Salvation Army) and purchase toys especially for that child – (ANGEL TAGS), some sponsor a needy family – (ADOPT A FAMILY), and some groups collect toys and/or clothes, hats, and mittens. The Salvation Army and the people we service are blessed by caring individuals like yourself. Also, this year The Salvation Army will again have our Angel Tree program to include ANGEL TAGS for those living in nursing homes. Items needed for those living in nursing homes include: no-skid socks, large print bibles, puzzle books, sweaters/sweatshirts, etc. We will be collecting these items and visiting nursing homes prior to Christmas. We look forward to working with you to give children and families and those living in nursing homes a wonderful Christmas this year.
