Red Cards  Will be suspended for next match (minimum)

Cannot be appealed  Must leave the playing and surrounding field area immediately  Affected team will play short  WCSA Board can impose further penalties including probation, suspension or expulsion  Any verbal or physical threats made by a coach or player will result in a ban from SAY soccer

Unsportsmanlike Coaching  Deliberately running up the score

 Coach will receive a warning and possible suspension  If the goal differential exceeds 6 it will strongly be  

considered running up the score – no questions asked Includes not actively limiting the score Communicate before it gets out of hand Written complaint to district rep within 48 hours WCSA Board has jurisdiction in review of the complaint and severity of sanctions if warranted No gains in points or standings

Two Times Policy  No less than 2 adults (18 and older) per team MUST be present at all team functions INCLUDING pre season parties, practices, games and end of season celebrations  Preferably the 2 adults should not be related

Concussion Policy  Mandatory State of Ohio  All coaches and referees

 Training available online at NFHS or CDC  MUST be completed before July

league officials MUST REMOVE any athlete exhibiting signs and symptoms from practice and games

 Step 2 – Athlete cannot return

until they are cleared by a doctor or health care provider trained in youth sports

Concussion Checklist  Appears dazed or stunned  Confused about what to do or       

where to be Forgets plays Unsure game, score or opponent Moves clumsily Answers questions slowly Loses consciousness (even briefly) Changes in behavior or personality Cant recall events prior to or after the hit or fall

Concussion Emergency Response  One pupil larger than the     

other Drowsy and cannot be awakened Headache that gets worse Weakness, numbness or decreased coordination Repeated vomiting or nausea Slurred speech

 Convulsions or seizures  Cannot recognize people

or places  Becomes increasingly confused, restless or agitated  Has unusual behavior  Loses consciousness (even briefly)  Call 911 or go to the

emergency room

Concussion WCSA  It is expected that all coaches, parents and referees

take all possible concussions seriously  Any player taking a serious hit or fall MUST be removed from the game for evaluation by the coach, asst coach or league representative  If in doubt sit them out and monitor the player for the next 24-48 hours  Coaches who ignore the safety of a player due to the status or nature of the game will face disciplinary actions by their district and / or WCSA disciplinary board

Scheduled Matches  Regular season is 8 games

 Expected to be played as scheduled  Coaches cannot reschedule on their own  Only be rescheduled when previously undisclosed event occurs and less than legal team of players will be present

 Cannot pre arrange a forfeit in advance. Team that forfeits pays ALL ref fees

Field Closures  Field organizer may close fields for weather or other appropriate reasons  Referee, assigned to match can close an open field

 If both coaches agree field unplayable for SAFETY reasons you must notify District Reps BEFORE leaving the field  C – notify to check field status

Weather Issues: Delays / Cancellations/Conditions  We WILL play in the rain  We WILL play in the heat. Accommodations will be made for       

temperatures over 100 degrees, HOWEVER the game WILL be played. Lightening or thunder MANDATORY 30 minute delay from last occurrence Must leave field immediately 1st half game cancelled and rescheduled except last game of the day 3rd quarter game will be restarted in the 4th quarter and played to duration 2nd occurrence game cancelled unless last game of the day. Games cancelled 1st half will be rescheduled as a full game. 2nd half of game will be considered played in full Notify District Rep of any cancellations

 All players must play ½ of the game in which they were

present  No more than 9 upper (S/K), 7 (W), 6 (P) on playing field at a time

Cast / Splints / Metal Cleats  NO !!

 Safety 1st  Toe cleat is OK

Special Passer Rules  Free kicks are indirect

 No slide tackling. Penalty is indirect free kick for opposing team  Re-do’s are ONLY given in these situations:  Goal kicks that do not cross the goal box line  Players are given THREE throw in attempts then ball will be turned over to other team to throw in

Referees  Authority commences when they enter field of play and

ends when they leave playing area Before, during and after the match Fees $9 (P), $18 (W), $32 (S/K) PER TEAM. Please try and have exact change NO DISENT Coaches will be held accountable for actions of players, parents and fans See Supplemental Rule 13 for more details

Match Protest  ONLY in misapplication of the law
