SLK Gateway Central Quick Tips Ministry Purpose: The Gateway Central team is focused on welcoming and connecting members and guests to Gateway Church. In this way, the Gateway Central Host serves as the front door to all our ministries at Gateway Church. Best Practices: When welcoming guests: Always focus on them and their story, their questions, their ministry needs and wants. Use the computers, iPADs, information kiosk ...etc. to help support your answers to ministry connection questions and to provided clear next steps. Sample Introductions: 1. Hi I’m ________________. Welcome to Gateway Church. a. Would you mind telling me how you heard about Gateway? b. Is this the campus you normally attend? c. Have you been attending Gateway for a while? d. Is there an area of ministry I can connect you with? e. Do you have any questions for me or about the church? Please Refrain from asking questions like the following: Are you a first-time Guest? Or - Is this your first time to Gateway? Are you new to the area? … etc. This inadvertently makes our church feel impersonal and oversized. Our goal is to make them feel like they are visiting a small town with small town manners. ☺
