BUSINESS EXPANSION GR ANT PR OGR AM Eligibility checklist To be eligible for a grant under the Business Expansion Grant Program you must: • be a small business, employing less than 20 full time equivalent staff • not be majority owned by a business entity that employs 20 or more full time equivalent staff • carry on the majority of your trading activity and have your trading premises located in the local government areas of City of Playford, City of Salisbury or City of Port Adelaide Enfield

• have been in operation for more than one full financial year • have an ABN and be registered for GST • be able to enter into a legally binding funding agreement with the South Australian Government • be willing to provide information and data, including financial information as required • commit to the required financial co-contribution – matched funding on a dollar for dollar basis).

Merit criteria

Do you carry on the majority of your trading activities in the local government areas of the City of Playford, City of Salisbury or the City of Port Adelaide Enfield?

As per the Small Business Development Fund Guidelines, applications will be assessed against the following merit criteria:

•D  irect job creation in northern Adelaide, based on the amount of grant funding required per job created.



• The capacity and capability, including management capability of the applicant to successfully create the new jobs.

Mandatory documents - Business Plan and Financial Statements Please attach the following mandatory documents to your application – your application will not be considered if these documents are not included:

• A business plan of no more than 10 pages with details of your business expansion or growth plans, including (but not limited to) a breakdown of costs, project milestones, and an explanation of how your business will create new jobs in Northern Adelaide.



• The last 3 years financial statements for your business, including profit and loss and balance sheet. Sole traders do not need to provide a balance sheet – please provide your individual tax return.



• Projections, budget or cashflow forecast for 2016-17.

Evidence of matching funding If your application is approved, you will need to submit evidence of your matched funding, such as a bank statement or finance approval letter, before you can receive your grant funds. Please note that a small business can only receive one Business Expansion Grant.
