2018 Fraternity/Sorority Life Individual Awards Overview Nomination Overview Below you will see the purpose, criteria, and nomination materials needed for each award. Review this material prior to submitting the nomination. All nominations for individual awards can be submitted via the “Individual Awards Form.” Please make sure the nominee fulfills the stated criteria and prepares the nomination materials prior to submitting the award. This will make the process easier and more efficient. The Barry Schonberger Lifetime Achievement Award is the only award that requires a letter of recommendation within the application and is the only award where involvement outside of 2017 will be considered. Nomination letters will be shared with the nominee regardless of if they are selected to this award or not. It is the responsibility of the nominator who feels they deserve this award to seek out and collect letters of recommendation for submission. Tips for Nominations These nominations should follow a few basic guidelines that will be included in the decision-making process. 1. Award nominations should be completed via EagleSync. 2. The professional quality of the nomination will be taken into consideration. This includes grammar, spelling, neatness, and ability to follow the selection criteria (i.e. word limits). It is recommended that essay responses be completed in Microsoft Word first and copied and pasted into the response box in EagleSync. It is also suggested that you have another member of your chapter read over the nomination before it is submitted. 3. The nomination should be year or term specific within 2017. 4. The nominations should be complete. If a requested document is missing, the Awards Selection Committee holds the right to disqualify the nomination. This includes answering any questions or criteria mentioned in the nomination page. 5. The Awards Selection Committee can also opt not to give an award if none of the nominations effectively meets the criteria of the award and/or nominators are just “nominating someone just to nominate someone.” Be thorough but concise with your nomination essay. Make sure you nominate the best person for each award! 6. Please be considerate of the Awards Selection Committee’s time to review these awards. Again, please do not apply for awards “just to apply.”

*All descriptions, requirements, and awards are subject for edit up until the application opens on EagleSync.
