Chief Executive Officer an “at will” employee responsible for the overall administration & management of the Southern California Fair. The CEO report to the Board of Directors of the Southern California Fair. EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Desired:  Extensive professional administration experience. Normally, five years of experience in district or County fair operations or other public or private event activity.  Effective administrator who is able to work cooperatively with Board of Directors, keeping them informed, providing the information and financial data, necessary for sound decision making and clearly explaining reasons and rationale for recommendations.

       

Experience in business or public administration, marketing, public relations, communication, entertainment or related fields Demonstrated knowledge and experience developing & managing budgets, maintaining sound fiscal policy & preparation of board & government-required reports Knowledge and experience in fund-raising, grant & sponsorship development Ability to work cooperatively & communicate effectively with staff, board members, governmental agencies, local businesses, media and the community Knowledge and experience in recruiting, training & supervising employees and volunteers; and in producing & directing community-relevant program, entertainment & special events Knowledge and experience in developing & implementing marketing plans & strategies Knowledgeable in the areas of purchasing, facility maintenance, contracting & technology Ability to create and deliver public presentations KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES





Oversee and direct the day to day operations of the District • Southern California Fair • Lake Perris Sports Pavilion • Community and Banquet Hall • Lease Holders (Lake Perris BMX, Apex Go-Kart Racing, Starwest Motocross, El Toro Sports Arena, Perris Auto Speedway, Community events) Responsible for process development and project management of events, creating a shared accountability and on-time delivery. Generate annual budgets, prioritizing financial outcome to the strategic plan and event objectives; transparently forecasting and management of the events financials, actively seeking opportunities to expand revenues while streamlining expenses. A screening committee will evaluate each applicant’s personal resume & application  The applicants considered to be the best qualified will be referred to the DAA’s board of directors for further consideration  Personal interviews will be scheduled at the fairground with a selected number qualified candidates will be held in January, the week to be determined. If necessary, additional interviews will be held .  The application of all candidates will be held in strict confidence  Background checks, references, verification and visits may be considered.  It is anticipated that the Board of Directors will make its final determination on or before January 31, 2016. The starting date will be flexible; from February to March 1, 2016.
