, Pastor
Mother Lillie Mae Collins was born October 27, 1931 to the late Roosevelt and Mittie Gaskin. She was married to the late Earnest (E.C.) Collins and to that union 8 children were born. Mother Collins dedicated her life to Christ and joined Church of God By Faith at an early age. She served as a faithful Church Mother and member of the Missionary Board until her health failed. Mother Collins worked at Wex- Tex Corporation for forty-one years while doing hair as a side job. She was known by all of Ashford for her famous press and curl hairdos. Even though the hot comb would graze your ear every now and then, Mother Collins would always blame the burning sensation on the hot grease, not her.
