We are the Dublin-Laurens County Recreation Authority As we approach summer – we encourage each of you to get involved in the summer programs and special events offered by Dublin-Laurens County Recreation Authority. Please go to our web page (dlcra.org) to get additional information and keep informed. We always look forward to talking with our public about new and exciting ideas - call us at the Welcome Center 478-277-5060. This summer we have several camps planned, movie mornings, Movie Under the Stars, Southern Pines Splash Pad (open 7 days per week), Zumba, Senior Bingo and the July 4th Special Event. July 4th, we’ll have an extra special day starting with the Splash Pad and capped with the fireworks starting at dark (approx. 9:15 p.m.). This one hour class will help develop the stamina and mind-set to get you through a 5k. This class consists of not just running, but games and activities that will help get your legs back under you. Lacrosse Camp -Lacrosse Camp- May 23 Grades 3-5 at 11 a.m., Grades 6-8 at 1 p.m. $5 registration fee Join us on the 23rd of May to learn and develop the fundamentals of lacrosse. Drills, Games and Activities will all take part in the clinic. Equipment will be provided if you don't have any.
Color Run -Color Run, July 4, Southern Pines, 10 a.m. Registration fee $5, Registration begins at 8 a.m. Pre-register by June 22 and receive a free t-shirt Get ready to get doused with color in Southern Pines first ever Fun and Color run. Along this 5k course you will run through many color stations where you will get covered in a variation of colors. So come dressed in a white t-shirt and be prepared to leave in a tie die shirt. We will have a DJ on site along with a free play area and the splash pad will be open to all participants to cool down at the end of the race.

Tiny Tikes Baseball Camp -Tiny Tikes Baseball Camp, July 20-24, ages 4-7, 9a.m.11a.m, $20 registration fee This camp focuses solely on learning the very basics and core of hitting, fielding, and throwing. Travel North approximately 2 1/2 miles and turn left on Kellam Rd. (turn between Church's Fried Chicken and The Salvation Army). Sock and Sole -Sock and Sole- Walking Program, Southern Pines, Tuesday and Thursdays at 7:30 a.m., June 1-July 31, $10 registration fee Walk and talk your way back into shape in our sock and sole walking program. Hilburn Park Hillburn Park is 7.5 acres in size. Facilities include a 300-feet lighted baseball field, 185feet lighted baseball/softball field, picnic shelter and 3 picnic tables, restroom/concession building, 2 tennis courts, playground and 30-car parking lot Directions: From I-16/US 441 Interchange - Take exit No. 51 (Dublin - McRae US319). Travel North approximately 2 1/2 miles and turn left on Kellam Rd. (turn between Church's Fried Chicken and The Salvation Army). Continue through 3 traffic lights (the first being the intersection of Ga 257, the 2nd being the intersection of Bellevue Road, the 3rd being the intersection of US 80). After crossing US 80 continue to stop sign approximately 100 yards. Then continue approximately 1/4 mile to a dead end at the park.

Go through 2; 4-way stops and traffic light until you reach a dead end at US 80 (Veternans BoulevardPump and Pantry convenience store on right.) Turn left on US 80 for approximately 1/4 mile and turn right on Springdale Road (next to Mid-State Pools.) Go to 90 degree right turn and then take immediate left on Springdale Drive until it dead ends. Turn left and you will see the complex on the left.
