Spectator Guide GETTING TO THE EVENT Directions to Holme Pierrepont From the South: Turn off at junction 24 of the M1 take the A453 to Nottingham and then the A52 to Grantham. Follow signs to the National Water Sports Centre. From the North: Turn off at junction 26 of the M1 take the A610 and then the A52 to Grantham. Follow signs to the National Water Sports Centre. The National Water Sports Centre is 15 minutes from Nottingham train station. Sat-Nav users are advised to use the name National Water Sports Centre rather than the postcode as some Sat-Nav’s will direct you to Colwick Race Course as opposed to the Centre. Car Parking The venue will be charging £5 for parking, which will cover you for Friday - Sunday. Please do not park on the road at any point during the race weekend, it is dangerous for the competitors and effects our relationship with the highways department - thank you! You will be required to pay your £5.00 when on site, by visiting the reception desk in the foyer of the main building. You will then be issued with a parking pass which you need to hang from your rear view mirror, anyone attempting to exit the car park without a pass on display will be stopped and asked to pay an additional fee. Over the weekend, we will be using various car parks based around the National Water Sports Centre, please follow the Car Park signs & listen to the car parking stewards when you arrive. Due to the route of the event we will change car parks during the race to ensure that the athletes are not endangered by stationary vehicles on the course. Please note that we would recommend that no valuables are left in the vehicles at all. All vehicles are parked at owner’s own risk.

ACTIVITIES AT THE VENUE There will be the usual catering units and ice cream vans for the kids (big & little) and the NWSC provides a range of family activities on site. Why not try out some of the venue’s new activities while the competitors are out on the bike course and you can keep up with their progress via our online tracker while you’re having fun.

Challenge the rest of your family or a group of friends on the new 9 holes Mini Golf course. 3. Get Pedalling! Hire a bike from our Family Fun Park and explore the 270 acres of Country Park and its fascinating wildlife. (Routes will be very limited due to event on Sunday). 4. Master a Segway! Try out a Segway on the newly designed track, specifically designed to teach you how to learn to control the bends and straights in style and speed. OR 5. Relax at the new Country Park Cafe. All of the above activities are located in the Family Fun Park area of the site, just before the white water course (score board side of the lake). We recommend that all spectators remain within the grounds of NWSC rather than trying to see cyclists out on the course because this will make the race more difficult for the competitors and marshals. Once all the swimmers have exited the water, the leading riders will be returning shortly (see estimated times). There is plenty to do on site and is detailed in the Activities section of this guide.

Run Course Similar to the swim, spectators are encouraged to get involved! The run route (see below and http://dload.osb.s3.amazonaws.com/maps/outlawhalfnotts17runmap.pdf) is predominantly around the perimeter of the lake. As the athletes push themselves around the lake, you can follow their progress from the grassed banks on both sides. We recommend spectators stay around the grounds of the NWSC, but please be mindful of athletes running on Perimeter Road and please be aware that trying to pace or give nutrition to athletes could cost them a disqualification as it classifies as outside assistance.
