Pre-season

Contact your area administrator to let them know if you are returning Complete the online Risk Management form and let your administrator know when it is completed Receive season information February 6-10 and communicate the following to your team: • Practice & game dates, times and locations • Uniform information: Fall 2016 marks the beginning of Year 2 in the adidas uniform cycle* so only brand new U5-U12 CASL Recreation players must purchase the uniform kit. U5-U12 players can purchase the adidas CASL jerseys: www.CASLnc.com/Recreation/Uniform U13-U19 players can purchase any jerseys and coaches and managers are responsible for picking the jerseys

Attend mandatory coaches meeting and optional CASL coaching clinic on Saturday, February 18. Coaches will receive*: • Cones, official CASL shirt and match ball • Official CASL Coaching Certification & shirt once you complete the coaching clinic • U5-U8 coaches will receive ball vouchers for their players *We ask coaches who’ve attended in the past to only take pinnies and shirts if needed. Sign-up for Recreational Text Alerts (used for weather and other important updates) Text CASLREC to 84483 Email team requesting someone to be the assistant coach or team manager. These adult/s must complete the same risk management as the head coach

In-season

U7-U19 teams: hold your first practice during the week of February 20-24: U5-U6 start March 4-5. Kick-off your first game on March 4-5 Continue weekly practices. Find practice plans at www.CASLnc.com/Recreation/Practice-Plans Take a break on Easter weekend: April 15-16 Continue team communication about upcoming games

U5-U12 Orange jerseys are home | Black jerseys are away U13-U19 Home team must change to white if there is a jersey color conflict

Submit your Hamilton Sportsmanship Award Winner midway through the season. Winners will be recognized during halftime of a NCFC game.

Game Day Head coaches must make sure their picture is properly loaded on the official roster Assistant coaches (or any adults on the bench) must bring a picture ID and be on the official roster Bring your team roster to every game All adults (assistant coach, team manager, etc.) working with the team must be on the roster

Bring a blank match report for U9-U19 games Always check your email, and CASLnc.com homepage for field information. Text “CASLREC” to 84483 to sign-up for emergency text alerts (i.e. field closures)

End-of-season Send an end-of-season email to your team with the following information: • Thanks for a great season • Encourage players to sign-up for next season before the Guaranteed Placement Deadline •Complete online risk management for next season Each Fall and Spring coaches need to complete the online risk management

Suggested equipment

CASL recommends (but does not provide) coaches have the following equipment:

• U5-U8 | 10 cones and 4 pinnies

Size 3 game ball is provided to each coach

• U9-U12 | 20 cones and 6-8 pinnies

Size 4 game ball is provided to each coach

• U13-U19 | 20 cones and 9 pinnies

Size 5 game ball is provided to each coach

CASL provides a game ball, coaching shirt and cones at coaching meeting and certificiation clinic on August 6.
