YMCA Spring 2018 Futsal Application Futsal is a format of five-on-five football (soccer) that is played extensively throughout the world. The term ‘Futsal’ is translated literally, meaning ‘indoor football’ (soccer). It is played on a basketball court with a ball which is smaller and heavier than the outdoor soccer ball and has a reduced bounce. Playing Futsal allows you to touch the ball nearly twelve times more than playing soccer. The game places considerable demand on technique, movement, tactical awareness and fitness. Futsal is a great skill developer, demanding quick reflexes, fast thinking, and pinpoint passing. The speed of play is such that you are forced to make quicker technical and tactical decisions.
Sessions will consist of both training and playing the game of Futsal.

Recognizing the possibilities of physical injury associated with sports, I hereby release, discharge and otherwise indemnify the YMCA of DeKalb County, Inc, affiliated organizations and sponsors, their employees, and associated personnel, including owners of fields and facilities utilized for the programs, referees and coaches, against any claim by or on behalf of the registrant and/or parent/guardian as a result of the registrant participation in the program and/or being transported to or from the same, which transportation I hereby authorize. I also state that I am the legal parent/guardian and that there is no one else whose signature is required by law for this release to effect for the registrant’s parents/guardians, or anyone associated with the minor or the YMCA DeKalb County or its affiliates.
