Springtime Cowl

A lightweight cowl, perfect for a Spring evening.

Materials: Pagewood Farm Swagger Light, 1 skein (100% wool, 100 gms., 218 yds.) Pagewood Farm 100% Silk Ribbon, 1 skein (approx. 34 yds.) Knitting needle size US 17

Pattern Instructions: With Swagger Light, Loosely cast on 13 stitches and knit across all stitches. Leave a tail 4-6 inches long to be knotted with Silk Ribbon. Cowl Pattern: Change to Silk Ribbon, leaving a 4-6 inch tail to be knotted with tail of Swagger Light. Row 1: with Silk Ribbon, knit across all stitches. Row 2: k1, wrapping the ribbon twice around the needle, *yo, k1, wrapping the ribbon twice around the needle*, repeat from * to end of row. Row 3: knit across all stitches, dropping the extra wrap and the yarn over. Change to Swagger Light, leaving a 4-6 inch tail to be knotted with tail of Silk Ribbon. Rows 4-8: Knit across all stitches. Repeat 8 rows of Cowl Pattern to desired length (sample had 10 repeats) Change back to Swagger Light and knit 3 rows. Sew ends together. Check that all ends have been knotted and trim fringe to desired length.
