Parama Pujya Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji has undertaken two projects of historical significance. The first is the construction of a Datta temple in Ganagapur (the place of Sri Narasimha Saraswati Swami) and the construction of a temple pond in Peethapuram (the place of Sri Pada Vallabha Swami) Sri Dattatreya’s incarnation is to bring peace and comfort to everyone. The Trinity form of Dattatreya appeared in various incarnations to Bless and protect people from time to time. Whilst incarnating as SRI PADA VALLABHA SWAMI, Lord Datta traveled in the Karnataka and Andhra Regions and Blessed devotees. Later as the incarnation of Narasimha Saraswati, Lord Datta took birth in Karanja village in Maharastra. After traveling around, Sri Narasimha Saraswati’s Nirguna Padukas were placed in Ganagapur, a town situated at the confluence of Bhima and Amaraja rivers. This place has been the centre of solace for those seeking physical and mental comforts. Pujya Swamiji, the incarnation of Dattatreya in our times, has been spreading the message of Lord Dattatreya and has caused the establishment of 16 Dattatreya temples representing the 16 stars of Lord Datta, Nine Datta temples representing the Nava Nathas, Datta Kashi, Datta Rameshhvara and Paduka Kshetras both in India and abroad. In 2002, Sri Swamiji inaugurated the grand Dattatreya temple in Peethapuram, the place of Sri Pada Vallabha Swami and named it as Sri Pada Sri Vallabha Kshetra. Annual Brahmotsava programs are being conducted regularly. Sri Swamiji has now determined to construct a temple pond in the Ashrama premises in Peethapuram to facilitate the worship of Datta in a better way. In the same year, Sri Swamiji established DATTA PADUKAS in our Ashrama in Ganagapur and made Sankalpa to construct a Datta temple where the idol of Datta will be of Marakata stone (green stone) and instead of a temple tower, this temple will have 18 feet tall Datta statue. Naturally this has created great Datta awareness in the area and devotees of Sri Swamiji have rejoiced. To bring in a sense of participation of devotees worldwide, Sri Swamiji has made the Sankalpa that each devotee should write “SRI DATTA” Nama in books. The goal is to encourage and motivate 1 lakh (one hundred thousand) persons to write as many “SRI DATTA” Namas as possible and to accumulate a total of 108 Crore (1.08 billion) “SRI DATTA” Namas. This sacred writing will bring a sense of participation in this spiritual effort. We urge each and every one to write at least 16,000 names and also spread this news to others and encourage them to write.
