The new neighborhood consisting of the Stanford West Apartment and Senior Housing (now Classic Residence by Hyatt) projects is planned to preserve natural features on the parcel, including archaeologically sensitive areas and existing mature trees. Internal street grids, architecture and landscape elements are designed to recall the traditions of existing older neighborhoods in Palo Alto and Menlo Park. The shopping center expansion design was centered on improving parking layout, pedestrian circulation, and landscape and Sand Hill Road was extended.
