”Galaxy” by Iowa Star Quilts
PATTERN REQUIRED: SUPPLIES NEEDED:

___X__ A good working sewing machine
__X____45 rotary cutter
___X___18” x 24” Cutting Mat
__X____Rotary Ruler
___X___¼” presser foot, if available
___X___Stiletto or The Purple Thang
___X___Invisi Grip so rulers don’t slide
___X____metal sewing gauge with slider
___X___6” x 12” rotary ruler
___XX__20” square ruler or largest square you have
___X___Angler 2 OR Quick Quarter 2 NOTE: The rotary mat MUST stay flat and out of the sun. Be careful because it will warp and be unusable. Basic Sewing Kit should include:
__X_____Fabric scissors
__X____Magnetic pin dish or pincushion
__X_____Tape measure
__X____Thimble
__XX____Several bobbins filled
__X____Seam ripper (Clover is best)
__X_____Pins (1 3/8” sharp .50mm glass head silk pins & flower head pins are my favorites) __X_____White, cream, gray, or matching good quality, name brand, 100% cotton thread __X_____Sewing machine (sz 80/12) needles This is a Fragrance Free Class Many people have allergies to scents. Please be considerate of your classmates and teacher by not using perfumes, scented body lotions and scented hair sprays. Background: Scraps to total 4 ½ yds. Dark: 50 2” strips or scraps to total about 3 yds.
Lap Size (in parentheses) Background: Scraps to total 2 yds. Dark: 25 2” strips or scraps to total about 1 ¾ yds.
