Start Healthy, Stay Healthy is an integrated nutrition system that combines products, resources and services – designed to foster healthy growth and development and the early establishment of healthy eating habits in children from birth to pre-school. Gerber Products Company, now part of Nestlé Nutrition, first launched the Start Healthy, Stay Healthy initiative in 2002 in response to the startling number of young children in the United States who are overweight. In fact, the number of overweight children has doubled during the last 20 years.¹ Gerber believes that by providing parents and caregivers with the right nutrition information and products at the right time, they can make the best choices for their children and positively influence early childhood nutrition and feeding habits in the US.
The Start Healthy, Stay Healthy™ Nutrition System offers products, resources and services targeted to the needs of children ages 0-48 months to help encourage healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime. The system includes six core elements and is supported by leading nutrition science:

This is accomplished through on-pack communication, the website – www.Gerber.com, a direct mail program, television advertising and a 24/7 call center – 1-800-4-GERBER. • Gerber helps new mothers and caregivers in the US by providing them with stage-based nutrition and feeding advice and guidance that is developmentally appropriate for each stage of their child’s growth, from birth to preschool. Each year, Gerber distributes informational literature to families to increase this understanding.
• When combining all communication vehicles, Gerber
