Starting Line Up
Harrisonburg Little League Association
A Message from the President... Hello HLLA! Welcome to the 18th HLLA Little League season! We are very excited to be able to
continue offering Little League Baseball and Softball to the children of Harrisonburg. HLLA is made up entirely of volunteers, so we need every parent to participate in some capacity in the league. There are endless volunteering opportunities both with the team and at special events. You can approach any board member to ask how you can help. Communication is also very important to us. In order to best stay in touch, I strongly encourage everyone to sign up for our new HLLA Text Message Updates so that we can update you quickly about games, practices and more. To sign up, just text AllUsersSports5854 to 84483. This will be our main channel of communication, so don’t wait to sign up! Your HLLA Board has worked hard all Winter and Spring to prepare for this season so that everyone will have a great experience with HLLA. So with all of that said, the grass is cut, the fields are lined and the kids are chomping at the bit... LETS PLAY BALL!!! Thanks and God Bless, Coach Dean
Bat-a-Thon is our annual fundraising event that will take place on May 20 this year. At Bat-a-Thon, kids can play baseball, earn tickets and win prizes. The event is meant to be a FUN event for kids, but it serves a dual purpose as this event is necessary to help fundraise for HLLA. It is HLLA’s only fundraising event throughout the season, so it is an important one! The league relies on these funds to keep costs at a minimum, so everyone is encouraged and expected to participate by raising a minimum of $50. Players who raises the most money will be rewarded with the best prizes that day! Look out for the Bat-a-Thon information packet coming next week for more information about the awesome prizes, updates about the event and how to volunteer.

Outside of the league, I work at Merck in purchasing as a storeroom buyer. I am so excited for this HLLA season as it is my first on the board!
After volunteering for HLLA for three years, I am excited to finally be a member of the board. My two young boys at home keep me busy, but not too busy for our league!

I assisted in coaching my first year and three years later, I am head coaching… two teams now and recently have become a board member! Coach Dean will put you to work if you are ready! My involvement in HLLA is attributed to my daughters Ksena and Jedida.
I grew up playing in HLLA, I started out as a farm league baseball player (and hated it) and then started playing softball as a minor leaguer when they started the program for softball a couple years later (and loved it).
