Steve Cummins Scholarship Sponsored by the Lakota West High School Booster Club Coach Steve Cummins was an asset to athletics at Lakota West High School. In an effort to continue to remember and honor his memory, the Lakota West High School Booster Club sponsors two $1500 annual scholarships awarded to a male and a female senior athlete. The criteria for this annual scholarship include:
Candidate must be a graduating senior athlete, team manager or trainer. Candidate must have been involved in school or community activities. Candidate must have a minimum 3.0 accumulative GPA. Candidate must submit a 500 word essay describing the skills that they acquired through their participation in sports, and what impact those skills will have as they continue their education and future. Candidate must use scholarship monies for college education. All completed applications, along with the 500 word essay, must either be e-mailed to [email protected] (for electronic submission) or returned to the Lakota West Athletic Department office (hard-copy) by Friday April 7, 2017.
Current NCAA guidelines pertain to the receipt of this scholarship regarding student athletes who receive college athletic scholarship awards.
