The Foundation provides funds for educational programs and activities outside the parameters of the normal operating budget. These funds will be used to facilitate student achievement and skills development, to recognize and encourage staff excellence and to expand community involvement from individuals, businesses and civic organizations.
Stratford Education foundation Education Foundation Grants Fund supplemental learning Alligator Day at Mary Allen Elementary Dean Coates from the Alligator Ranch in Spearman, Texas came to Mary Allen Elementary. He brought two three year old live alligators for the Students of MAE to see and touch. Mr. Coates gave a brief presentation.
He explained the difference in alligators and crocodiles, where alligators live, what they eat, how long they live and what their natural habitat is like. The students were able to ask questions and then if they wanted they could touch or hold the alligator. The students loved getting to see and feel an alligator first hand. Many of these students had never seen a live alligator or been able to pick one up and hold it or feel it. This was a one of a kind experience for all the students and teachers at Mary Allen. The students loved the alliga-
tors and were talking about them for days after Mr. Coates left. Thank you so much to the Education Foundation for allowing this awesome experience for our students. It is surely a moment they will never forget! -1st Grade Teacher & Grant Recipient
