COURSE DESCRIPTION Length of Time: 1 Year Each Number of Periods Per Week: 5 Number of Credits: 5.00 Instructor: Mr. Shockley, Mr. Garrick
WHAT IS THE STUDIO ART PROGRAM? This is a four-level program that progresses from one year to the next. It was conceived as an honors level program that would accommodate students with a gift for art or a love of the visual arts. It is also flexible enough, that with a letter of recommendation or portfolio examples, it can be entered at different levels. This sequence of studio art classes is more in-depth and intensive than the Introduction to Art courses. If you love and enjoy the visual arts, this is the program for you!
PROJECTS MAY INCLUDE: •P ortfolio Development – Realism – Abstraction – Basic
• Drawing – Still Life – Landscape/Seascape – Portraits • Multimedia – Watercolor – Acrylic Painting – Collage – Scratch Art

* Sculptural and ceramic projects when material is available
