Summer 2012 Dear Incoming Second Graders, Welcome to the 2nd Grade! We look forward to a fabulous year together. 1. Over the summer, READ, READ, READ (at least 20 minutes a day!) Please select at least 3 books to read during the summer – either from the provided reading list or one that your parents approve. 2. Please answer the questions on the attached book report paper for each of the 3 books you read. 3. Please cut out one of the attached pencil or rocket ship posters and write down each of the books you read over the summer. Please bring in your poster on the first day of school. We will hang them up to help decorate the walls! 4. To begin our adventure in second grade together, we will be publishing our very own Second Grade Class Book. Please come prepared on the first day of school with 3-4 pictures of yourself (with and/or without other family members.) 5.
