Dear Parents, I hope your summer has been a season filled with relaxation and rejuvenation. I would like to introduce myself as your child’s fourth grade Judaic Studies teacher for the school year of 5772-73 (2012-13). I hope to accomplish many academic goals, while simultaneously making the class studies challenging and exciting! The class will be continuing and finishing learning Chumash Bereshit. We will be incorporating both trop and commentary along with the beautiful stories of our Avot (Forefathers). This year the girls will begin learning a new subject, Navi. We will learn Sefer Yehoshua in its entirety. In addition to Chumash and Navi, we will be studying Yediot Klalliot which will incorporate a wide spectrum of Jewish Knowledge. As the year progresses, the students will be instructed in the Halachot and traditions of our Chaggim. Each week we plan to review the Parsha and demonstrate how its lessons are applicable to our everyday life. I will continue the development of your daughters Chumash, Rashi, Kriyah and Shoroshim skills. These skills are the building blocks of your daughter’s Judaic education. I am enthusiastic about the year which lies ahead, a time of continued success in meeting new challenges and excelling in our academic growth. I wish all of you a Shana Tova filled with health, happiness, and success. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and/or concerns. I can be reached at
[email protected] or (323) 931-5808 ext. 311.
