Summertime swap Non-uniform day for your summer fair donations Dear Parents and Carers As our summer fair comes ringing its ice cream bike bell around the corner, we’re calling for donations from everyone in the school. In exchange for your offerings, we’ll give the children a non-uniform day the day before on Friday 5th June. To ensure an even spread of goodies, we’ve allocated donation requests by year group. Reception & nursery Bottles of wine, beer or spirit for our tombola. By law, children aren’t allowed to carry alcohol, so please can parents hand these to staff? Years 1 & 4 Jazzy jars. This is where your child decorates an empty jar (jam jar, pickle jar, whatever) and fills it with sweets and other treats. It could be a Haribo-filled jar decorated with stickers and glitter or a paper-wrapped jar filled with hair clips or macaroons. Years 5 & 6 Chocolates for our tombola – boxes, bars or bags, anything worth £2 or more. Everyone We also need donations from all families for these stalls: • Second hand school uniform • Plants – cuttings or new pots • Cakes – bake them or buy them Rainbow hampers Finally, each class will create a colour-themed hamper for the raffle. We’re going to make this a school competition, with Mrs Doodson awarding the year group with the best hamper a treat, such as Golden Time. We’d like every child to bring in a food item that’s the colour (or wrapped in the colour) they’ve been nominated: Nursery – pink Reception – orange Year 1 – green
Year 4 – red Year 5 - white or clear Year 6 - grey or silver
Please bring in your donations w/c Monday 1st June, apart from cakes and plants, which we’d like on Friday 5th June to ensure they’re nice and fresh for the fair the next day. That’s it! It’s a lot, we know. But, if everyone pitches in, the fair promises to be a brilliant success. There’ll be a full run down of what’s happening at the fair in our programme, which you’ll find in book bags before half term, along with raffle tickets for you to buy. Till then, big thanks for all your support.
