SUPPLY LIST Dress Design Workshop Pamela Leggett, Instructor [email protected] This workshop incorporates design, fitting and sewing. A great opportunity to make a statement dress! Pattern - Pamela’s Patterns #116 Classic T-Shirt Dress Pattern (available at Steve’s or pamelaspatterns.com)  If you have made this dress before, you will work off your already altered pattern. If this is your first time using the pattern, follow the measuring and sizing instructions to determine the correct size and front for you.  Trace the pattern pieces on tracing paper (I like to use the medical table paper available at Steve’s). Leave space around the pattern pieces on the paper, don’t cut them out. We will use the traced pattern to make our new design. Inspiration – I’ll have lots of ideas for you!  Bring in ideas from catalogues, google images, Pinterest, etc. Fabric - there are so many possibilities with this type of class, here are some guidelines  2 ¼ yds is what you would need for a dress made from one fabric.  1 yd or less is a good amount to bring for contrast pieces. If you have something in mind and have a rough idea of measurements, you can get a little more specific.  Email/text me a drawing or photo if you need help! [email protected] / 610-804-1640 What to Wear  We will be doing fittings as we sew. The best thing to wear is a cami and tights/thin leggings. Throw on a dress or tunic over this so changing is easy.  Make sure your undies and tights don’t leave extra bumps, it is best if both come up to, or past, your waist.

Machines  Sewing Machine and Serger. If you don’t want to bring both machines, we will have two sergers set up for the class that can be shared.  Sewing thread for the sewing machine, thread that will blend with your fabrics for the serger. Set the serger up for a 4-thread serge. Notions  Pencil, flair marker (felt pen by PaperMate, optional), eraser  Rulers – design rulers (if you own them) and a straight quilting ruler (at least 18” long)  Rotary cutter and scissors  Stay Tapes – woven, knit and double sided (available at Steve’s)  Basic sewing supplies Feel free to contact me if you have any questions! I am looking forward to working with you! Pamela
