Q: How can I open multiple files on the same graph? A: With TrendReader 2 it is easy and quick to open multiple .TRW or .DLF files simultaneously in one graph. There are two methods that can be used. (only two graph files are used for demonstration purposes, but you can open as many graphs as seems practical using the same procedures.) Separately, the graphs look like this:

Method 1: To apply all the data contained in the respective graphs, simply select the desired files from the Open File menu in TrendReader 2.

Holding down the Ctrl key, select the files you want to merge.

Click “Open”.

Both graphs will be merged into one graph. Combined, they look like this:

This new graph can be saved as a separate .dlf file and its information can be exported to Excel etc., as any of our graph / data files can. The graph can be zoomed and labeled etc., as any single .dlf file can. Method 2: The second method allows you to “build” a more customized plot. Method 1 essentially merged all of the contents of the respective graphs and displayed it with a couple of mouse clicks. Method 2 allows you to drag and drop files into a Graph List and then remove lines of data that you do not want to see in the new final graph. As you drag and drop, you can see the make-up of the respective graphs and can easily identify what lines you want to see and what you want to omit. We proceed as follows:

Select “Data Folder” tab from the Shortcuts Bar.

Left click and drag the first file over to the Graph List pane and release the mouse button, thereby dropping the file into Graph List.

Do the same for the next file.

Let’s assume you don’t want to see temperature lines in this final graph. Simply click and uncheck the temperature lines.

When you have unchecked what you don’t want to see, click “Plot”.

The Statistics tab and Data Table show all the data as well. As in Method 1, this file can be saved as a separate file and handled and exported like all .dlf files.
