Tabung Haji targets 50,000 registrations KUALA LUMPUR: Tabung Haji launched its latest product, Hi
bah Amanah (trust gift), yester day and is targeting 50,000 de positors to sign up in the first year.
Minister in the Prime Minis
ter's Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom said in a
statement Tabung Haji's effort to develop the product, partic ularly for its nine million depos itors, would help reduce the issue
of unclaimed deposits. Hibah Amanah is a contract
whereby the depositor voluntar
ily "gifts" his savings to the ben eficiary during his lifetime. The beneficiary will be able to claim the savings upon the de positor's death. The depositor will also be able to enjoy the full benefit from his savings and conduct transac
tions during his lifetime. Hibah Amanah allows a Muslim
convert to gift his savings to his nonMuslim beneficiaries, too.
Those wishing to register for the product may do so at any Tabung Haji branch. Bernama
