Taft D. 90 Athletic Association 2017 70th Annual Taft Tournament Tournament Rules IESA rules will apply to all games with the following variations: 1. Each coach must submit a team roster before the first game is played. Proof of age must be submitted if an opposing coach questions any player’s age. 2. All athletes must be regularly enrolled students in the school they represent. 3. Each athlete may participate in two divisions if he qualifies. Athletes are eligible to move up to a higher division, but may not move down to a lower division. If a school has multiple teams per grade level, ​players may not participate on more than one team in the same level. 4. Grades 3 - 4, and all girls teams will use the 28.5 basketball. 5. Fourth and fifth grade will be allowed to press the last minute of game, sixth grade the last two minutes of game (no press if up by more than 10). 6. Games will be 5 minute quarters. 7. All games must be played as scheduled. A 10-minute grace period will be allowed. If a team does not show up, they will forfeit the game. 8. Overtime will be a two minutes. Each team will receive an additional timeout. 9. Top bracket will be considered home team and will wear white or light colored jersey. Taft will always be considered home team and will wear white jerseys. 10. 2 coaches per team, players, and cheerleaders will be admitted free at the door. 11. Only those teams playing will be entitled free entrance. 12. Players should check all valuables with coach or manager. Taft School is not responsible for lost property. 13. Any discrepancies in rules will be decided by the referees and tournament director. Please encourage your student body to show good sportsmanship at all times. Good sportsmanship shall be the foundation of this tournament. TAFT is your HOST. Don’t be afraid to ask us for any courtesies.
