2014 Central California Quilt & Sew Retreat The 2014 Central California Quilt & Sew Retreat will be here before you know it! Get excited! The event is sold out BUT you can still take part in the fun! On Sunday, Nov. 2nd, the trunk show and lecture from our SEWlebrity guest is open to all who would like to attend.
Fall Into Fabric, Fall Into Fun! When I think about Fall, and the fast approaching holiday season, I think about a few things. First, the fact that I’ll be getting one step closer to 40! SCARY!!! Second, my favorite season; Fall. And lastly, my favorite family holiday; Thanksgiving! I’m a sucker for pumpkin pie and turkey! I love the fall months and I am such a fan of all the colors! I just love when the leaves start to turn, and although we can’t compare to the beautiful New England States, with their gorgeous colors, I still love our own little version of Fall right here in the valley. The weather will start to turn before we know it and things will start too cool down to a more reasonable temperature outside. But while things will be cooling off weather wise, they are continuing to heat up here at the shop! We continue to be busy around “Towne” but for good reason! We refuse to settle
when it comes to providing you, our customers and friends, not only fun but the best classes around! With recently having been shop certified, by Judy Niemeyer of Quiltworx for her amazing paper piecing techniques, things have really started to heat up around the shop more so than they already have been, and we have you to thank for that! Not only has the daily shop happenings been keeping us busy but we are coming down to the wire with the final preparations for the 2014 Central California Quilt & Sew Retreat happening Halloween weekend! If you were one of the lucky ones and got your spot before it sold out, you are in for a real treat! The projects for each class have been finalized and all of the details surrounding our amazing team of educators have been taken care of! Join Nationally recognized quilter, Debbie Van Fossen for Free Motion Quilting: The Basics. Debbie will teach you about threads, batting, needles and just about everything else you will need to begin your free motion quilting adventure. Beginning Quilting 101: Just Cant Cut It This class is designed to teach you quilting from square one. Learn to properly cut fabric using rotary cutters, master the ¼” seam and piece together your first quilt top. Binding Basics Need to put the final touch on that quilt you have worked so hard on? Barbara will guide you through preparing, applying and finishing the perfect binding. You will learn how to miter your corners, perfectly join the ends together and stitch it down. We will be working from pre-quilted fabric leaving you with a reference piece for future projects.
