Statement on Worry Worrying about every daily need is a sure way to shorten your life, and more importantly, it is a reflection of where your heart is focused. The world will teach you to chase after material wealth because it claims to bring security. Jesus, however, taught that only God can bring security and peace. The goal is to let go of your daily needs and trust God to take care of them. This approach is not an excuse to sit around and do nothing, but rather a call to not allow your fears to consume and paralyze you. It is a call to focus your efforts on serving God, knowing that he takes care of his children.
