A

BUS LEDs – BUS LEDs are not used.

B

BUS IN – RS-485 Input Port (RJ-45). Connect the cable from the RS-485 port on the shade controller to the BUS IN port on the power panel.

C

BUS OUT – Used to daisy chain multiple SHA-POW10-10 power panels when there are more than 10 shades in the system. See the Installing More than Ten Shades section for wiring information.

D

DIP SWITCHES - When daisy-chaining power panels, set the DIP switches to On when the power panel is the last panel in the chain. Otherwise, set to Off. See Installing More than Ten Shades section for more information.

E

Each port gets wired to a shade motor. Up to ten shades per power panel is supported. See the Shade Motor Board to Shade Motor Connections section to the left for wiring information.

7.   Connect the ground wire to the ground screw in chassis. See

Savant Controller to BUS IN Connection

image from step 6.

The Savant Controller communicates with the SHA-POW10-10 using the RS-485 protocol. Below are the pinouts for the cable that transports the signaling. The cable pinout in image below uses a CAT 5E/6/7 and follows the T1/E1 568B standard. SSC-W485

8.   Replace power supply cover using the (4) M3 X 3mm screws

removed in step 3. 9.   Apply power by switching the breaker at the circuit breaker

box to the On position.

SHAPOW10-10

Installing More Than Ten Shades When there are more than 10 shades being installed, additional SHA-POW10-10 Ten Shade Power Panel are required.

Connecting Power

Connecting the SHA-P0W10-10 to a 15 amp circuit breaker is described below. ELECTRIC SHOCK! The 120V AC source power poses an electrical shock hazard that has the potential to cause serious injury to installers and end users. IMPORTANT! -   A licensed electrician is required to install the SHA-POW1010 ten shade power panel. Isolate and turn off power at the main breaker panel prior to installing any electrical devices. -   For supply, neutral, and ground connections, use only #14 AWG or larger solid copper wire. 1.

Remove power at the circuit breaker.

2.   Remove lid if installed. 3.   Remove the (4) M3 x 3mm screws that hold down the power

supply cover and remove cover.

Additional Information -   Each SHA-POW10-10 can control up to ten shade motors. -   The SHA-POW10-10 can be daisy chained to connect up to 40 motors per shade controller. -   Use a standard Cat 5E/6/7 cable when making connections between the BUS OUT and BUS IN ports. -   Dipswitches from SW1 must be switched to the On position when the SHA-POW10-10 power panel is the last power panel in the RS-485 chain. Otherwise they should set to Off.

½ inch electrical knockouts from the SHA-POW10-10 chassis and install an electrical clamp. 5.   Insert the 120V AC feed through the electrical clamp. 6.   Connect the hot and neutral wires as shown below. Use approved wire nuts or similar. 4.   Remove one of the

Cable Pinout (Cat 5e/6/7) The cable used to connect the BUS OUT/BUS IN ports use a standard CAT 5e/6/7 cable with the following pinout (T1/E1 568B).
