Having completed a successful fall rush by pinning 14 pledges, our brotherhood is transitioning into the next part of the semester which is loaded with events that will strengthen Delta Psi’s relationship with alumni, parents, and the community. The 60th anniversary was a huge success according to all parties involved, and many alumni reconnected with the active chapter. This anniversary celebration was a truly unique experience that bridged the gap between many generations of sigs. On October 23rd we held a dinner for the families of our brothers and pledges. This event gave some of the older active brothers, along with our chapter advisor, Bob Eckart, the chance to describe the favor and distinction that Sigma Chi offers us each and every day.

Delta Psi was honored by having Sig Dr. James K. Mitchell ’51 receive the Davies Medal for Engineering Achievement this October. Shirley Anne Jackson recognized Dr. Mitchell for his long and expansive career in Geotechnical Engineering. Dr. Mitchell gave a lecture on his career and field and

Risk Management Seminar One of the easiest ways to preemptively manage risk is to simply educate the brotherhood on various life safety topics. Earlier this month, we were proud to invite Brother Charles J. Wilcox, Esquire to host a seminar on legal and safety questions the brotherhood had. Brother Wilcox is a 1968 graduate of St. Lawrence University, a member of the Epsilon Iota chapter, and currently a practicing attorney with a very notable resume including taking to jury over 40 homicide trials as DA of Rensselaer County.

to have had the opportunity to benefit from Brother Wilcox’s impressive level of experience. Brother Wilcox’s many insights into the New York legal system will not only help the brotherhood make smarter, more informed decisions, but they will undoubtedly give us the confidence to better deal with any undesirable situations that may arise.

safety, and general life safety topics is a first line defense to make sure the brotherhood and chapter stays safe and continues to thrive. Expectantly, with events such as these and a chapter dedicated to making responsible choices, we are well on our way to building on our recent successes and earning our third straight RMF award.
