The Garden City Xiang’an
SWA was asked to develop a master plan for Xiang’an and its urban sub center with conceptual planning over the larger 27 km2 area of Xiang’an and a more focused urban design plan for the core 10.5 km2 area of the larger site. The urban framework for the site was created with a density of residential, retail, mixed use, educational, commercial, and civic spaces. This framework is unified through a network of open spaces and recreational areas, honoring existing villages and cultural history.
