The Lion Instructor: Cynthy Kram Fabric requirements: (the first 7 fabrics are listed dark to light and using the color codes in the pattern. The rest are accents and background fabrics) ¼ yard Brick, mane ¾ yard Papricka, mane 1 yard Clementine, mane 1 yard Coral, mane 1 yard Geranium, mane ¾ yard Creamsicle, mane ½ yard White, mane and eyes ¼ yard Black, face accents ¼ yard Charcoal, background ½ yard Clay, background 1 ¼ yard Fog, background and eyes 5” square each of Powder blue and Wedgewood, eye fabrics Pattern: The Jungle Abstractions quilt: THE LION by Violet Craft. The pattern needs to be copied and cut out. When cutting them out do not cut on the lines but about a 1/8” from all edges. This will make it easier when trimming all of the units out later when your finished sewing. Stack all of the patterns in order numerically and fasten with a binding clip. Helps keep the in order. The small patterns used for the eyes can be put in a zip lock bag; it helped me from losing them. Other Supplies: 2” x 12” approximate piece of template plastic 12” Add-A-Quarter ruler 6” x 12” or 3” x 18” or approx. ruler for trimming patterns and cutting fabric Mat and rotary cutter, I used a 45 mm rotary cutter but a smaller one would work fine. Paper scissors Neutral thread for piecing Sewline glue stick Flat flower head pins Basic sewing supplies (scissors, seam ripper, etc) Sewing machine in good working order, ¼” sewing foot.
