As part of this term’s ‘Spanish Christmas’ topic, children will be learning to effectively use search technologies to research the subject and produce their own non-chronological reports. ICT: Children will develop their understanding of computer networks, including the internet. They will learn to use search technologies effectively, appreciating how results can be selected and ranked, and be discerning in evaluating digital content.

Children will be exploring the features of play-scripts. They will read the story ‘Little Robin Red Vest’ by Jan Fearnley (in English and Spanish), and then use this story to write their own play-script.

Over the next two weeks, children will be working in groups to design and create their own ‘portal de Belén’ or ‘Christmas Nativity Scene’, a typical feature found in Spanish homes during the Christmas period. Art (Sculpture): I know how to communicate my ideas and meanings.
