THS CTE Grading Policy Grades will be calculated using the following weighting system:  Major grades = 60% o There will be a minimum of 3 major grades per six weeks  Daily grades = 40% o There will be a minimum of 10 daily grades per six weeks o Daily grades may be broken down into participation/daily/labs

Redo Policy: A failing grade on an assignment will gain the opportunity for one “redo” if the grade was made on the first attempt to complete the assignment. The maximum grade possible will be a 70%. Teachers may add additional requirements that must be completed prior to the redo opportunity. Students will have a minimum of five days from the date of notice of failing grade to take advantage of this. Late Work: Work that is turned in one day late will receive a maximum grade of 70%. Work that is turned in two days late or more, the work will not be accepted and the student will receive a grade of a 0. Projects: All major projects are due on or before the due date. Projects turned in one day following the due date will receive a maximum grade of 70%. Projects turned in two days late will receive a 0.

THS English Grading Policy Grades will be made up of the following weighting system:  Tests = 60% o Minimum of 3 grades per cycle o Major projects and long term assignments (research papers, etc.) will be considered a test, as well as the typical test.  Daily = 40% o Minimum of 10 grades per cycle o The 40% may be divided into subsections such as daily 15% and quizzes 25%

Project/Long term assignment policy: All projects and long term assignments will be due on or before the due date. If it is turned in one day after the due date, the highest grade the student will earn is 70%. (Note: The score on a late project/long term assignment is not an automatic 70%.) Projects and long term assignments will not be accepted after that, and the student will earn 0%. Retest policy: Within 5 school days from the date of notification, students have the opportunity to retest during tutorials on a test in which they earned 60% or below. Teachers may add additional requirements that must be completed/included prior to this retest opportunity. The highest grade a student will earn on a retest is 70%. (Note: The score on a retest is not an automatic 70%.) Redo policy: Students have the opportunity to redo a daily grade assignment within a minimum of 5 school days during tutorials on an assignment in which they earned 69% or below. Teachers may add additional requirements that must be completed/included prior to this redo opportunity. The highest grade a student will earn on a redo is 70%. (Note: The score on a redo is not an automatic 70%.) In order to have an opportunity to redo a daily assignment, the student must have turned in a fully completed assignment on the due date. Late work policy: An assignment will be accepted one day late for a grade no higher than 70%. (Note: the score on a late assignment is not an automatic 70%.) No work will be accepted after that, and a grade of 0% will b e recorded. (Unforeseen circumstances will be addressed on an individual basis.)

THS Math Grading Policy Grades will be calculated using the following weighting system:  Tests/Projects = 60% o Minimum of 3 test/project grades per six weeks  Daily Work/Homework/Quizzes = 40% o 15% homework, 25% quizzes o Minimum of 10 daily grades per six weeks

Retest/Redo policy: Once being notified of a test grade of 69 or below, students will have five days to take a retest during tutorials, provided the student fully completed the test originally. The highest grade a student can make on a retest is a 70%. (Note: The score on a retest is not an automatic 70%.) The individual teacher may require students to complete additional requirements, such as tutorials, study island assignment, etc. before allowing a retest/redo. If a student fails a homework assignment or a quiz, they will be given an opportunity to improve their grade to a 70%, within a minimum of five days, provided the student fully completed the assignment originally. Late policy: Students may turn in work one day late for a maximum grade of a 70%. If turned in two or more days late, the student will receive a 0. Projects: Projects will be due on or before the due date. If a project is turned in one day after the due date, the maximum grade is a 70%. If a project is turned in more than one day late, it will not be accepted.

THS Science Grading Policy Grades will be calculated using the following weighting system:  Daily/homework grades = 40% o There will be at least 10 daily/homework grades per six weeks  Exams, Labs and/or Projects = 60% o There will be at least 3 major exam and/or project and or lab activity grades per six weeks

Redo/Retest policy: Any grade below a 70 can be retaken or redone if the grade was made on the first attempt to complete the assignment and redone within a minimum of five days. Tests must be redone within five days after the students have been notified of a grade below 70. Students must attend a tutorial session before the retake of the test. The Retest will be different from the original test with a maximum grade of 70%. Make up work: Students will be allowed one day per day absent to make up work missed. Student is responsible for getting makeup work. Late work: Students are allowed to turn in work one day late for a maximum grade of 70% Projects and/or labs: All projects/labs will have a due date. Projects are due on or before the due date. Projects that are turned in one day late will receive a maximum grade of 70%. If a project is turned in two or more days late, the project will not be accepted.

THS Social Studies Grading Policy Grades will be calculated using the following weighting system:  Tests/Projects (3 per six weeks) = 60%  Classwork/Homework/Quizzes (10 per six weeks) = 40%

Absent Work: If a student is absent they have one day for each day absent to turn in their work. Late Work: If a student turns in work one day late, they will receive a maximum grade of 70. Two or more days late, no credit will be given. Re-test/Redo policy: Students will have a minimum of five school days after notification to redo any assignment that they fail with a 69 or below. Teachers may assign additional requirements prior to redoing any assignment. The retest grade will not exceed a 70 in the gradebook. Projects: Projects will be due on or before the due date. If a project is turned in one day after the due date, the maximum grade possible will be a 70. A project more than one day late will not be accepted.
